List Of Foods That May Cause Harm To Our Brain

Saturated Fat

Another study, albeit one in rats, contributes to the idea that butter is not in fact back. Researchers at the University of Montreal found that rat diets high in saturated fat (when 50% of all calories come from an unhealthy fat, like palm oil or butter) impaired the
functioning of their brain’s mesolimbic dopamine system—aka the part that controls motivation and wellbeing, and is often implicated in mood disorders, drug addiction, and overeating. Diets high in monounsaturated fat, like olive oil, didn't show the same association. The study, published in the journal Neuropharmacology, also found that saturated fats dulled the animals’ reward system, spurring them to overeat to compensate for feeling unsatisfied.

 Processed Foods

Processed foods are bad for your health. Food additives, preservatives, food dyes have a negative impact on cognitive functions and behavior in children. Lancet published a study in 2007 which revealed that excessive intake of processed foods, foods that contain additives and food colorings can lead to hyperactivity.
Artificial food additives are consisted of about 3000 different chemicals that are added to your food. Naturally, consumption of this foods isn’t beneficial for your health and things get even worse when you eat this type of food on daily basis. For MSG that is used to emphasize the flavor of the food destroys nerve cells in the brain and encourages* seizure-like behavior.
A study from 1984 discovered that exitotoxins additives affect the nervous system.
Some examples of processed foods are:
  • Processed meats
  • Packaged baked goods
  • Frozen dinners
  • Savory snacks
  • Canned vegetables
  • Microwave meals.

Sodium

While the debate about its effects on blood pressure and cardiovascular disease rages on, a study found that high levels of sodium intake paired with low levels of physical activity had a negative impact on cognitive abilities. For the study, Canadian researchers followed the physical activity and sodium consumption of 1262 participants, ages 67 to 84. The participants were placed into three groups: low-, mid-, and high-sodium intake. The most significant changes were seen in participants with low physical activity levels; people with lower sodium intake paired with lower physical activity levels showed slower cognitive decline than participants with high sodium levels and low physical activity. Happily, this is a reversible curse: The study, published in the journal Neurobiology of Aging, discovered that regular exercise can counteract sodium’s negative effects on the brain, as well as the cardiovascular system.

Trans Fats

One more reason to rejoice over the FDA’s trans fats ban: The stuff could hurt your memory. A study published in the journal PLoS One found that consuming more trans fat was associated with difficulty remembering words—and we’re not talking tip-of-the-tongue mistakes. The study followed 1018 participants and their consumption of trans fats, ranging from 3.8 grams per day to 27.7 grams per day. They were asked to complete a task that forced them to identify new versus recurring words in a series. For each gram of daily trans fats consumed, participants recalled an estimated 0.76 fewer words. That means study participants who consumed the highest amount of trans fats per day recalled 65 words correctly, while the average participant recalled 86 words.

Fried Foods

As it was mentioned above, you should always strive to avoid fried foods. Scientists from Spain discovered that compounds that are released from cooking oils increased the risk of some neurological degenerative diseases e.g. Alzheimer’s disease or Parkinson’s disease. These compounds are formed when the oil is heated to normal frying temperature. However, if you think that change of the oil might change the outcome you are wrong. Scientists tested sunflower oil, flaxseed oil, and olive oil. All tested oils released these compounds in frying temperature; however flaxseed oil and sunflower oil created more compounds in shorter amount of time.
Some examples of fried foods:
  • Chips
  • Buffalo wings
  • Fried chicken
  • Corn dog
  • Chimichanga
  • Doughnuts
  • Egg rolls
  • French fries yet again.

Tips For Better Health and Brain Function

  • Instead of frying the food, you should bake or cook
  • If you love dairy products then buy ones with reduced* level of fat
  • Instead of buying instant meals, cook your lunch and dinner
  • Unprocessed meat is always better* than processed meat
  • Include a lot of fruits and vegetables into your diet and don’t forget to wash them of course.

Must Read: How Your Brain Will Be Be Affected

In World Today, these are common things we do that can Damage our Brain so In order to experience a heightened state of brain function, make sure you avoid habits that inhibit mental health and learn new ways to promote brain function. Any positive change is sure to reflect in you, regardless of how many bad habits you have; so start by learning what kills your brain
.

Lack of sleep

Last night's late party makes it less likely you'll remember your new coworker's name the next day. "While some part of the brain takes a siesta when we sleep, deeper areas involved with memory and emotional response become relatively more active," says Allen Towfigh, MD, medical director of New York Neurology & Sleep Medicine. "Individuals with sleep deprivation and sleep disorders not only suffer from impaired memory but also daytime fatigue, impaired attention, and reduced reaction time." The standard recommendation of eight hours of sleep a night doesn't necessarily work for everyone. If you wake up fatigued and fall asleep unintentionally during the day, then you may need more sleep, says Dr. Towfigh.

Anxiety and depression

Worrying about an upcoming presentation in front of the CEO may also hinder your memory, several studies show. "We don't understand the exact link, but strong evidence indicates depression, anxiety, and bipolar disease disrupts the neural circuitry involved in developing and retrieving memories," says Dr. Towfigh. "The severity of the memory loss often mirrors the severity of the mood disorder—severe depression brings about equally severe memory loss." Prolonged periods of everyday stress increase cortisol levels in the brain, which causes our brain cells to lose synapses (the bridges that connect our brain cells to one another), and make it more difficult to create and retrieve memories. The good news is when memory loss exists with a mood disorder (including anxiety and depression), the memory loss is usually at least partially reversible. "As the individual's mood improves, often so does the memory loss," says Dr. Towfigh.

  Alcohol

Contrary to popular belief, alcohol doesn’t actually kill your brain cells, says David Sack, M.D., CEO of addiction-treatment company Elements Behavioral Health.
But hooch does alter levels of neurotransmitters, the chemical messengers that control your mood, perception, and behavior, he says.
Alcohol impairs brain areas such as the cerebellum—the control site for your balance and coordination—and your cerebral cortex, which is responsible for thinking, memory, and learning, says Kimberly S. Walitzer, Ph.D., deputy director of the University at Buffalo’s Research Institute on Addictions.
Plus, University of Michigan researchers found the amygdala—an area of the brain involved in fear and anger—showed less of a reaction to threatening faces after a single drink, potentially explaining why you’re prone to risky behavior (like fighting a bouncer) under the influence

Smoking

  • Smoking blocks the carotid artery. So, blood supply to the brain cells are cut off. This results in stroke, called cerebral thrombosis. Smokers’ risk of having a stroke is 1.5 times more than non-smokers.
  • Smoking also leads to thickening and clotting of the blood.
  • Smoking causes oxidative stress.

Smoking Myth

It’s a myth that smoking helps to concentrate and makes a smoker alert. In fact, the speed and accuracy of a smoker’s thinking ability becomes weak. Smoking also lowers down the smokers’ IQ. This fact has been established by a study conducted by University of Michigan researchers. Besides this smoking leads to many diseases and illness.
The researchers also confirmed that long-term smoking have harmful effects on memory, problem-solving, and IQ. In fact, they viewed that smoking diminishes the thinking ability of a person.

Benefits of Quitting Smoking

Smoking which changes the human brain, when quit can benefit the smoker. So, give up smoking and decrease your risk of having strokes.

High Blood Sugar

Overeating, poor memory, learning problems, depression- all these conditions were linked in a recent study to consumption of too much sugar. These effects point to a larger problem which health experts are only beginning to understand; how sugar consumption affects normal brain function. The U.S Department of Agriculture reports that the average American consumes 156 pounds of added sugar annually.
This sounds quite alarming especially when you picture what 156 pounds of sugar would look like on the shelves at your local grocery store. Most people have no idea how much sugar they consume because sugar is always present in our diet but health experts recommend a reduction in sugar intake, which you can do by avoiding food and drinks loaded with sugar.

Air Pollution

Your brain uses up significant amounts of oxygen in order to function properly- which can be a problem if you're constantly exposed to air pollutants. Polluted air impairs the supply of oxygen to the brain, which lowers cognitive function and could also cause actual physical changes to the brain. Air pollution is caused by industrial waste, vehicles, dust, etc, and the pollutants can reach deep areas of your organs, inhibiting proper function of your body.

The Neccessary Foods To Improve Our Memory

These are foods to improve our memory, it is most important that we don't run out of it.
So take a look on them and try as much to be taking atleast once in a week.

green-leaves-memory

Dark green leafy vegetables

Kale, collard greens, spinach, and broccoli are good sources of vitamin E and folate, Morris says.
For example, one cup of raw spinach has 15% of your daily intake of vitamin E, and 1/2 a cup of cooked spinach has 25% of your daily intake.

Exactly how folate may protect the brain is unclear, but it may be by lowering levels of an amino acid known as homocysteine in the blood. High levels of homocysteine may trigger the death of nerve cells in the brain, but folic acid helps break down homocysteine levels.
High homocysteine levels have also been linked to an increased risk for heart disease.

Fish

Salmon, mackerel, tuna, and other fish are rich in heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids, including docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

“In the brain, DHA seems to be very important for the normal functioning of neurons,” Morris says.

Another plus: Eating more fish often means eating less red meat and other forms of protein that are high in artery-clogging saturated fats.

Avocado

Avocados are a source of monounsaturated fats, omega 3, and omega 6 fatty acids. These increase blood flow to the brain, lower cholesterol, and aid in the absorption of antioxidants. Avocados also come with many antioxidants of their own, including vitamin E, which protect the body and the brain from free radical damage. They are also a good source of potassium and vitamin K—both protect the brain from the risk of stroke.

 Spinach

Rich in brain-protective antioxidants along with vitamin K, folate, and lutein.

 Almonds

Like fatty fish, almonds have high levels of brain-healthy omega-3 fatty acids and lots of brain-protecting vitamin E.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil contains medium chain triglycerides that the body uses for energy, leaving glucose for the brain. It also seems to have a beneficial effect on blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol. Anything that benefits the heart and circulation also benefits the brain. Coconut oil acts as an anti-inflammatory as well and has been linked to helping prevent Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Beans and Legumes

Beans and legumes are excellent sources of complex carbohydrates. These complex carbohydrates are also mixed with fiber that slows absorption, giving us a steady supply of glucose for the brain without the risks of sugar spikes associated with many other sugar sources. Beans and legumes are also rich in folate—a B vitamin critical to brain function—and essential omega fatty acids.

Blueberries

These berries are antioxidant powerhouses, protecting the brain from oxidative damage and stress that lead to premature aging, Alzheimer’s, and dementia. The flavonoids in blueberries also improve the communication between neurons, improving memory, learning, and all cognitive function, including reasoning, decision making, verbal comprehension, and numerical anility. Other dark berries are good for the brain too, like blackberry, açai, and goji berries.

 Red wine

Rich in polyphenols that may actually boost brain blood flow.

Dark chocolate

Like red wine, also rich in polyphenols.

 Pumpkin seeds

A rich source of zinc, a mineral that plays an important role in memory and overall brain function.

Eggs

Eggs are considered a super food—the whites are protein rich while the yolks contain a precious water-soluble nutrient called choline, which improves memory, focus, and overall cognitive performance. See, there are many reasons to get crackin’ in the morning

Tomatoes

dotFor those of you incredibly fuzzy and spaced out from consuming a low carbohydrate diet, it's time to feed your brain. Opt for a value-added source of carbohydrates like tomatoes. Tomatoes are your top source of potassium (great for muscles and helping lower blood pressure), an excellent source of vitamins A & C and they are loaded with antioxidants.
These are the list of some of them, You want to mention more? the comment box is below

How to Create A Study Plan for Colleges/Universities

What is a study plan?

A study plan is an organized schedule that students create that outlines study times and learning goals. Just like with work or school schedules, college students should develop a study schedule where they can block off days and times in their calendar dedicated to studying. Creating a study plan not only helps you become more organized, but it also holds you accountable for your own learning outcomes. If you are an online
student, a study plan is even more important in your success in college, since you need to have self-discipline and determination to complete your studies without the constant reminders of an instructor.

Why do I need a study plan?

A study plan is an effective way to help you navigate through your college education in an organized way. Every student will develop a different study plan; there is no correct study plan for everyone. When creating your personalized study plan, you will need to do some self-evaluation of your current schedule and time management. Find days when you have fewer personal commitments when you can squeeze some study time. Remember, each student studies differently, so the amount of time you need to study will differ from the time your classmates devote to studying. Some students find that studying nightly for thirty minutes is more realistic than studying a few times a week for a longer period of time.
You’ll have to identify your learning goals for each study session in order to maximize these scheduled study times. Determine why you are studying, and develop a plan that can help you achieve those goals. Take into consideration upcoming tests, your average in certain courses, and projects that you anticipate will take more time than others.
Lastly, create a study plan that is reasonable. Although you must set aside enough time in your schedule dedicated to your studies, blocking off five hours with no break will set you up for failure. You can spend less time studying if you do it correctly. For a detailed look at how to make a personalized study plan, explore the step-by-step instructions below.

Use these four steps to create your study plan

1: Create a time chart of your current activities. Creating a time chart will allow you to see how you spend your time from day to day. For a one-week period, take notes about your daily activities. Record things like when you are at work, school, or home with family. Even note when you eat and sleep. Once you have done this for a week, look for times that you can slip in an hour of dedicated studying. This chart can be helpful for determining days and times that are consistent each week that you can devote to studying.
2: Develop a schedule – Now that you have determined available days and times for studying, make a mark in your planner or calendar. Use detailed notes to block out times on your calendar so that you are reminded every time you look at it. It is best to have a schedule written down so you don’t forget. Seeing it written down can make it seem more important, like a doctor’s appointment you cannot miss. Also, it is helpful to write down which subject you plan to study, so you can be sure devote enough time to each of your classes. For example, Mondays and Thursdays can be set aside for studying math, while Tuesdays and Fridays can be devoted to English.
3: Determine your study goals – At the beginning of each week, determine why you need to study and what you plan to accomplish in each class. Do you want to raise your average in a particular class in order to maintain a certain GPA? Are you preparing for a big exam? For example, if you are studying for an important midterm exam, alter your study plan two weeks prior to the test to incorporate review of old tests and notes in your sessions. On the other hand, when you don’t have an upcoming test, use your study time to read ahead one chapter in order to grasp the next lecture. You will need to tailor your study plan depending on your weekly goals, so be sure to analyze what you plan to get out of each study session. While it is tempting to skip your study session when there isn’t a test looming over your head, you will reduce your future test preparation time by reading ahead and preparing for lectures.
4: Stick to your schedule – A study plan works best if it is followed on a consistent basis. You should try to develop a study plan that you can follow for the length of each semester of college. Since most students enroll in different classes each semester, you will have to reevaluate your plan and fine-tune it each term. Remember, the most important thing is sticking to your plan.

Strategize for effective follow-through

One way to ensure you follow through with your plan is to schedule time for other activities. By achieving a balanced schedule, your mind will be more receptive during time devoted to studying. If you schedule several long days in a row of studying, you will get discouraged and will be tempted to give up. It is acceptable, and even recommended, that you schedule time for nonacademic activities, such as exercise, hobbies, and socializing with other students. When you are studying, remember to take breaks in order to prevent feeling overwhelmed.
Lastly, some students find it helpful to find a study partner. Studying with a classmate allows for collaboration and discussion. When creating your study plan, check with other students in your class to determine if you can coordinate study sessions. However, if you tend to socialize more than study when you are around others, stick to an independent study plan. If you do choose to study with a partner, choose someone with whom you are likely to stay on task.

Leverage tools for creating a study plan

If keeping a paper and pen schedule is not helpful to you, consider other ways for keeping your studies on track. Take advantage of study planner apps, like My Study Planner, available for smart phones and tablets, which can help you manage your study schedules. Websites like MyStudyLife.com are also helpful, allowing you to create an account to better organize your study time with to-do lists and calendars.

How to Study the Bible -Recomended-

 Getting Started

There are many ways to study the Bible. This method is just one to consider.
If you need help getting started, this particular method is great for beginners, but can be geared toward any level of study. As you become more comfortable studying God's Word, you will begin to develop your own techniques and discover favorite resources that will make your study very personal and meaningful.
You've taken the biggest step by getting started. Now the real adventure begins.

Choose a Book of the Bible

With this method, you will study an entire book of the Bible. If you've never done this before, start with a small book, preferably from the New Testament. The book of James, Titus, 1 Peter, or 1 John are all good choices for first-timers. Plan to spend 3-4 weeks studying the book you have chosen.

Beging With Prayer

Probably one of the most common reasons Christians don't study the Bible is based on this complaint, "I just don't understand it!" Before you start each study session, begin by praying and asking God to open your spiritual understanding.
The Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:16, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." So, as you pray, realize that the words you are studying are inspired by God.
Psalm 119:130 tells us, "The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple."

Read the Entire Book

Next, you'll spend some time, perhaps several days, reading through the entire book. Do this more than once. As you read, look for themes that may be woven into the chapters.
Sometimes you'll detect a general message in the book. For example, in the book of James, an obvious theme is "persevering through trials." Take notes on the ideas that jump out at you.
Look also for "life application principles." An example of a life application principle in the book of James is: "Make sure your faith is more than just a statement -- it should result in action."
It's a good practice to try and pull out these themes and applications on your own as you meditate, even before you begin using other study tools. This gives an opportunity for God's Word to speak to you personally.

Zoom In

Now you will slow down and read the book verse by verse, breaking down the text, looking for deeper understanding.
Hebrews 4:12 begins with, "For the word of God is living and active..." Are you starting to get excited about Bible study? What a powerful statement!
In this step, we'll see what the text looks like under a microscope, as we begin breaking it down. Using a Bible dictionary, look up the meaning of the word living in the original language. It is the Greek word 'Zaõ' meaning, "not only living, but causing to live, vivifying, quickening." You start to see a deeper meaning: "God's Word causes life to come about; it quickens."
Because God's Word is alive, you can study the same passage several times and continue to discover new, relevant applications throughout your walk of faith.

 Choose Your Tools

As you continue to do this type of verse by verse study, there's no limit to the wealth of understanding and growth that will come from your time spent in God's Word.
For this portion of your study, you will want to consider choosing the right tools to aid in your learning, such as a commentary, lexicon or Bible dictionary. A Bible study guide or perhaps a study Bible will also help you dig deeper.
Check out my Top 10 Bibles for suggestions on great Bibles for Bible study. Also check out my top Bible commentaries for suggestions on choosing a helpful commentary. There are also many useful online Bible study resources available, if you have access to a computer for your study time.
Lastly, this resource links to an introductory overview of every book in the Bible

Be Doer of The Word

Don't just study God's Word for the sake of studying. Be sure to put the Word into practice in your life.
Jesus said in Luke 11:28, "But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice."
If God speaks to you personally or through life application principles you find in the text, be sure to apply those nuggets to your day-to-day life.

Set Your Own Pace

Once you've finished the first book, choose another one and follow the same steps. You may want to spend much more time digging into the Old Testament and some of the longer books of the Bible.

Best Ways to Increase Your Blog/Website Traffic

Write Well and Write Often

Frequently updating your blog with useful content is the first step to building your blog's audience. The content you write is what will keep readers coming back for more. Make sure you have something meaningful to say to them and say it often to maintain their interest and keep them loyal.
Furthermore, post frequently to increase the number of chances you have for your blog's content to be noticed by search engines such as Google or Technorati.

Submit Your Blog to Search Engines

Get on the radar screen for the popular search engines such as Google and Yahoo! by submitting your blog's URL to them. Most search engines provide a 'Submit' link (or something similar) to notify the search engine of your new blog, so those search engines will crawl it and include your pages in their results.
It's important to understand that simply submitting your blog to search engines doesn't mean your pages will appear at the top of a Google search results screen, but at least your blog will be included and will have the chance of being picked up by a search engine.

Use and Update Your Blogroll

By adding links to sites you like in your blogroll, the owners of those blogs will find your blog and will be likely to add a reciprocal link in their blogrolls. It's an easy way to get the link to your blog in front of many readers on other blogs. The hope is that some of those readers will click on the link to your blog on the other blogs' blogrolls and find your content interesting and enjoyable turning them into loyal readers.

Harness the Power of Comments

Commenting is a simple and essential tool to increase your blog's traffic. First, respond to comments left on your blog to show your readers that you value their opinions and draw them into a two-way conversation. This will increase reader loyalty.
Second, leave comments on other blogs to drive new traffic. Make sure you leave your blog's URL in your comment, so you create a link back to your own blog. Many people will read the comments left on a blog post. If they read a particularly interesting comment, they are highly likely to click on the link to visit the commenter's website. It's important to make sure you leave meaningful comments that are likely to invite people to click on your link to read more.

Syndicate Your Blog's Content with an RSS Feed

Setting up an RSS feed button on your blog makes it easy for your loyal readers to not just read your blog but also know when you publish new content.

Use Links and Trackbacks

Links are one of the most powerful parts of your blog. Not only are links noticed by search engines, but they also act as a tap on the shoulder to other bloggers who can easily identify who is linking to their sites. Linking helps to get you noticed by other bloggers who are likely to investigate the sites that are linking to them. This may lead them to become new readers of your blog or to add links to your blog from theirs.
You can take links to other blogs a step further by leaving a trackback on the other blog to let them know you've linked to them. Blogs that allow trackbacks will include a link back to your blog in the comments section of the post that you originally linked to. People do click on trackback links!

Tag Your Posts

It takes a few extra seconds to add tags to each of your blog posts, but it's worth the time in terms of the additional traffic tags can drive to your blog. Tags (like links) are easily noticed by search engines. They're also key to helping readers find your blog when they perform searches on popular blog search engines such as Technorati.

Submit Your Posts to Social Bookmarking Sites

Taking the time to submit your best posts to social bookmarking sites such as Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit and more can be a simple way to quickly boost traffic to your blog.

Remember Search Engine Optimization

When you write your blog posts and pages, remember to optimize your pages for search engines to find them. Include relevant keywords and links but don't overload your posts with too many relevant keywords or completely irrelevant keywords. Doing so can be considered spamming and could have negative results such as your blog being removed from Google's search entirely.

Don't Forget Images

Images don't just make your blog look pretty, they also help people find you in search engine listings. People often use the image search options offered by Google, Yahoo! and other search engines, and naming your images with search engine optimization in mind can easily boost your traffic.

Consider Guest Blogging

Guest blogging can be done when you write a guest post on another blogger's blog or when another blogger writes a guest post on your blog. Both methods are likely to increase traffic to your blog will be exposed to the other blogger's audience. Many of the other blogger's readers will visit your blog to see what you have to say.

Join Forums, Web Rings or Online Groups

Find online forums, web rings, groups or social networking sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn where you can share ideas and ask questions of like-minded individuals. Add a link to your blog in your signature line or profile, so each time you post on a forum or participate in another online network, you're indirectly promoting your blog. Chances are many people will click on that link to learn more about you.

Promote Outside Your Blog

Promoting your blog shouldn't stop when you step outside the blogosphere. Add your blog's URL to your email signature and business cards. Talk about it in offline conversations. It's important to get your name and your blog's URL noticed offline, too.

Nominate Yourself and Other Blogs for Blog Awards

There are a number of blog awards given out throughout the year. Nominating yourself and other blogs and bloggers can draw attention to your blog and drive traffic to it.

Don't Be Shy

The most important part of the blogosphere is its community and much of your success as a blogger will be tied to your willingness to network with that community. Don't be afraid to ask questions, join conversations or just say hi and introduce yourself. Don't sit back and hope the online world will find you. Speak out and get yourself noticed. Let the blogosphere know you've arrived and you have something to say.

Take your origami talents to the next level by making cute earrings to sell. Try knitting a beanie or a scarf. Make a few bars of pretty homemade hand soap, or maybe even try your hand at some DIY fashion items.
If you want to look extra professional when you sell your crafts, design a logo on Inkscape (it’s like Adobe InDesign or Photoshop, but easier to use!) and slap a label on whatever you choose to make. Tie a ribbon around it for good measure. As long as your craft looks cute and professional, it’s almost guaranteed that someone will want to buy it!
You can sell your handmade items online through Etsy or ArtFire, but you can also bring what you’ve made to a stand at a farmer’s market or a local vendor.

For the social (media) butterfly: Get sponsored on Twitter or YouTube

Have a million followers on Twitter? Got a knack for shooting snarky, viral videos? Why not try making money off of them?
For example, a lot of makeup companies will pay popular YouTubers to review their products in “vlogs.” So if you already have a channel with a steady subscriber base, consider leaving contact information for business inquiries on your homepage.
Another way to make money from YouTube is to become a partner through their Partner Program. Becoming a YouTube partner requires having a minimum of 100 subscribers and adhering to the YouTube Community Guidelines, but it comes with a lot of perks, including getting free specialized online classes through Creator Academy and greater freedom in customizing your homepage and brand. The best part? YouTube partners have the option to enable their accounts for monetization. Once the account is enabled, a five- to 10-second advertisement will play at the beginning of all your videos, and you’ll receive a small revenue cut for every 1,000 views.
Similarly, companies will often pay prominent Twitter users to promote their content and products. If you have an account with a healthy following numbering in the thousands, take advantage of it! The easiest way to get started is to sign up for services such as the ChaCha Affiliate Program. These companies connect savvy Twitter users with corporations and celebrities that want social media advertising. Just tweet the text or product links that they send you, and you’ll receive a portion of the ad revenue!

 For the A+ student: Tutor

If you’re doing well in school and love teaching others, why not put your skills to good use tutoring the neighborhood kids?
Make a few simple posters listing your qualifications, availability and contact information, and put them up at your local library and coffee shops. Hand them out to your relatives and neighbors. Some teachers might even be willing to recommend your services to students who might be struggling in their classes, so definitely chat up your old teachers. Remember to keep your resumé on hand when you start getting calls!
Nearly any skill or passion you have is marketable. You can become the local music tutor if you’re a musician. If you’re good at soccer, try organizing a few younger kids into a team and coach them in the afternoons.
The great thing about tutoring is that the hours tend to be pretty flexible and you’ll be able to meet the kids right at your local library after school or on the weekends. Virginia, a freshman at Columbia University, was able to pay for a portion of her college tuition by tutoring the children of family friends through the school year. “Because you’re only meeting with the student once or twice a week at most, I found that parents were willing to pay much more than just minimum wage,” she says. “I make 20 dollars an hour, which doesn’t seem like much for one session, but it adds up quickly with multiple tutees.”

For the artist: Become a freelance graphic designer

The word “graphic designer” might sound a bit scary and professional, but in reality it’s an easy work-from-home job with flexible hours. As it turns out, there are a remarkable number of small startups and local businesses looking for someone with a good aesthetic sense to create logos, flyers, posters and other visuals for their brands.
Jordan, a high school senior at Phillips Academy, decided to pursue this path after creating a website for his sister’s bakery. According to him, getting started is easy as long as you have an existing body of work you can shape into a portfolio. It doesn’t have to be actual commissioned work, and it can range from posters to cool fonts to website or print layouts you’ve made.
“For the last few years, I've been making posters for events at school, designing websites and branding and creating logos for most of the clubs I'm in. So when I needed funding to pursue more deeply my passion for social justice-based projects, starting a small branding and design studio just seemed like the natural way to go,” Jordan says. “Right now I'm branding my sister's bakery (ashleyjeannes.com) and my friend's NGO, and I'm compiling it all onto my online portfolio.”
After setting up a website, the easiest way to get hired is to promote your business through word of mouth and Facebook ads, as both are relatively cheap or free. Taking the initiative and reaching out to startups on your own is also a great way to go.
“I'm going to continue reaching out to people who are starting out, or organizations and businesses who are in dire need of a brand, and see if they’re interested,” Jordan says. “Even if I contact 20 people and only one person is interested, that's a client.” If this helps, please drop you comments below. you can also add what you think is not here down the comment Box..

The Proper Time to Speak or Keeping Shut( When To Speak up or Shut up)

The Proper Time and Place to Speak Up or Shut Up

A very scarce article, except you are purchasing from the author but here is well written. Good Speach a sign of wisdom, this why Adage saying, “The truth shall set you free,” is often true, there’s also weight in the idea that “Silence is golden.” Indeed, there’s a time and place for applying both axioms, but the trick is knowing which to implore when. If you’re faced with a difficult situation at work, at home or in a friendship or love relationship, it’s important to know when to speak your mind and when to keep your thoughts to yourself.

Speak Up: When it Affects Life, Death or Well-Being
When it comes to your life, your well-being or the life and well-being of someone you love, you most definitely should speak up. A lot of people have trouble speaking up in the presence of authority figures (doctors, lawyers, teachers, police, etc.), but you can question them and still be respectful. It’s okay, especially if you think they’re mistaken. Everyone is human and makes mistakes, but if the mistake could cost you your life or heath, you need to speak up. If your gut is telling you something’s wrong, go with it! You owe it to yourself or your loved one to speak up. If you don’t find the words to express yourself, you may live to regret it.

Speak Up: When You Feel Uncomfortable
Your self-esteem will also suffer as a result and you’ll start to feel insecure and second-guess yourself. Remember, you can speak up if you’re uncomfortable without being rude. It’s not about being stubborn or difficult. Rather, it’s about setting boundaries. If you don’t, someone will continue to cross them!
You know that feeling you get when something is off? It’s also the feeling you get when you agree to something against your better judgement. If something makes you feel uncomfortable, you need to speak up! If you don’t, you’re going against your gut instinct and not acting in your highest good.

Speak Up: When You Have a Question
Admitting you don’t know something can be embarrassing, especially when it’s something you “should” know. This fear of embarrassment often causes us to remain silent instead of asking for clarification or details. Unfortunately, this means we never learn what we “should” have known in the first place. The bottom line is that asking questions is never stupid. However, it’s foolish to keep your mouth shut for fear of looking stupid.

Shut Up: When You’re Highly Emotional
Emotions make us say and do things we don’t mean. In a highly charged situation, like during a fight with your partner, you may want to say something to anger or shock the other person. But if you’re highly emotional, what you say may not be coherent or it may not reflect how you really feel. You’re just sharing a jumble of feelings that don’t make sense when you’re highly emotional. It’s better to take the time to collect your thoughts rather than speak up in the (heated) moment. Once words are spoken, they can never be taken back—even if you didn’t mean them. Save a difficult conversation for after you’ve cooled down. It could save your relationship!

Quality Steps to Overcome Barrier/Problem/Obstacles

1. Think big

The biggest barrier to achieving success is often ourselves and those around us. How often have you thought about doing something challenging and find yourself saying: 'I'll never be able to achieve that!' More often, in my experience, it is the lack of support from those closest to you, your family and friends, who play the critical role in halting a challenge before it has even begun. ‘There’s no way you can do that’ is a classic response to the presentation of a potential challenge to friends and family that leads to the first and most important risk to your challenge.

Overcoming this first barrier and identifying your challenge is the first step on your road to success. Make sure the challenge is important to you, that you have the time to commit to the planning, preparation and delivery of the challenge, and that you have the resources to deliver success (money, equipment etc). Having established your challenge, then you should go public and let family, friends and colleagues know what you are aiming to achieve – a challenge shared is a challenge halved!

2. Set goals

Major challenges can often appear unachievable when viewed as a whole. The key to delivering success is to dissect the challenge into a number of smaller steps which together lead to the delivery of your challenge. Each small step can be viewed as a short-term goal. Combining a number of short-term goals leads to the delivery of a medium-term goal, and combining medium-term goals leads to the completion of your journey, the delivery of your long-term goal (your challenge) and success.

Goal-setting is relatively simple if you follow a few simple rules. A goal should be challenging but achievable - it is important that you establish your goals at the beginning and make sure they are outside your comfort zone; don’t set your sights low. In addition, make sure that the goal is measurable so you can monitor your progress on a regular basis. And most importantly, celebrate success. When you achieve a goal, make sure to smell the roses!

3. Brain power

Most of the challenges we take on appear entirely physical in nature – losing weight, running a marathon, developing a beach body – but the brain is central to the delivery of success whatever the challenge. It is rarely our physical selves that stop us from achieving a major challenge. More often it is our loss of belief, commitment and motivation that leads to failure. This psychological trio works together in harmony to keep you on the road to success.

Believing you can achieve your goal provides the foundations in overcoming your challenge. With belief comes a commitment to investing the time, effort and resources to make sure you continue to deliver your short-term goals, and repeated success in delivering your goals increases your motivation which, in turn, increases your belief in your abilities to deliver your long-term goal.

Making sure you pay attention to your brain performance throughout your challenge will optimise your chances of delivering your physical goals.

4. Leave no stone unturned

Achieving a major goal is rarely simply about delivering on a single determinant of performance. The road to a successful challenge requires the optimisation of a range of performance variables simultaneously. For example, achieving a better physique is not simply about doing more sit-ups! You must improve your diet, increase your strength and endurance training, optimise your sleep and recovery etc. So, having committed to the challenge, you must construct a plan to optimise each of the areas required to deliver success.

In addition to those determinants required to deliver success, there will also be risks that negatively impact on performance. For example, if your goal is to stop smoking, a common risk comes from friends who do not share your enthusiasm and continually offer you cigarettes. Making sure you have a plan to address any risks when they arise is vital. The more detailed the plan, the greater your chances of success. If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail! Do not leave anything to chance; success is not a chance event.

5. Signing the contract

Making a contract with yourself to deliver success is particularly valuable when you are struggling with belief, commitment and/or motivation. By formalising an arrangement detailing your goal and when you will deliver it, you are much more likely to be successful. This may seem a slightly bizarre approach, but the more formal the contract, the greater the chances of delivering on your commitment to it.

Your contract raises the selective importance of your goal and provides the necessary motivation to persist with the appropriate amount of work until you have delivered success. Asking a third party, someone close to you, to witness the contract will raise the importance of the contract and the responsibility on you to deliver success. Having made a contract place in a public place, like the fridge. This will increase the importance of your commitment to the contract and raise the profile of the reward once you deliver success. Here is an example of a personal contract for weight-management that you could adapt for your own challenge.

Be willing to abandon what doesn't work.

Some products or services you include in the business might not work. We tend to fall in love with our own products and services and find it hard to let something go. It's almost as if we develop blinders that prevent us from seeing what is very clear to outsiders, but not to us. If you're going to play the game, you need to know when to fold the cards. As Gary Hamel put it in What Matters Now: How to Win in a World of Relentless Change, Ferocious Competition, and Unstoppable Innovation,
"There's a simple, but oft-neglected lesson. To sustain success, you have to be willing to abandon things that are no longer successful.” Evaluate what doesn't work and have the courage to walk away from it before it becomes a major obstacle. The energy you will have released from letting it go will increase your concentration on what works—it will allow you to apply the intensity of a laser focus on the right target.

Replace old strategies with new ones.

Some obstacles are the result of our ingrained habits—clinging to outdated modes and ways of doing business because it's what we know best. One such example is relying on outbound marketing tactics without considering the value of inbound marketing strategies. Inbound marketing is the brainchild of HubSpot
. It means attracting customers through a variety of avenues such as blogs, podcasts, videos, social media marketing and many other forms of content marketing
. It is the antecedent of outbound marketing, which includes strategies such as cold calling, direct email marketing and spam, to name a few. This humorous HubSpot video
illustrates the difference between the two modes of marketing. Don't stay behind the times. Embrace social media, create valuable content that you can share freely and hire a professional to help you optimize your website

9 Possible Signs You Are On A Wrong Move

We suddenly realized how the fragility of life makes every moment so meaningful, and that most of us waste far too many moments immersing ourselves in needless distractions that steal our attention away from the things that actually matter.
If you feel like you’re on the wrong track with what matters most to you, here are nine warning signs to look for, and tips to get you back on track:

1.  All the decisions you’ve made someone else made for you.

There are people who live their entire lives on the default settings, never realizing they can customize everything.  Don’t be one of them.
You have to live your own life your own way.  That’s all there is to it.  Each of us has a unique fire in our heart for something that makes us feel alive.  It’s your duty to find it and keep it lit.  You’ve got to stop caring so much about what everyone else wants for you, and start actually living for yourself.
Find your love, your talents, your passions and embrace them.  Don’t hide behind other people’s decisions.  Don’t let others tell you what you want.  Design and experience YOUR life!  The life you create from doing something that moves you is far better than the life you get from sitting around wishing you were doing it.

2.  You’re only doing what you’re doing because it’s safe.

Never let your fear decide your future.  To play it too safe is one of the riskiest choices you can make.  You cannot grow unless you are willing to change and adapt.  You will never improve yourself if you cling to what used to be simply because it’s familiar and comfortable.
Accept what is, let go of what was and have faith in what could be.  The bold steps you take into the unknown won’t be easy, but every step is worth it.  There’s no telling how many miles you will have to run while chasing a dream, but this chase is what gives meaning to life.  And even if you have to fail several times before you succeed, your worst attempt will always be 100% better than the person who settles and never tries at all.

3.  You have chosen the easiest possible path.

Nothing in life is easy. Don’t expect things to be given to you.  Go out and achieve them.  Good things come to those who work for them.  Some have natural talent, while others make up for it with tremendous heart and determination, and it’s almost always the latter group that succeeds in the long run.
There is too much emphasis on finding a ‘quick fix’ in today’s society.  For example taking diet pills to lose weight instead of exercising and eating well.  No amount of magic fairy dust replaces diligent, focused, hard work.
Working and training for something is the opposite of hoping for it.  If you believe in it with all your heart, then work for it with all your might.  Great achievements must be earned.  There is no elevator to success; you must take the stairs.  So forget how you feel and remember what you deserve.  NOW is always the best time to break out of your shell and show the world who you really are and what you’re really made of.  Start right where you are, use what you have, do what you can, and give it your best shot.

4.  Obstacles are all you see.

The big difference between an obstacle and an opportunity is how you look at it.  Look at the positives and don’t dwell on the negatives.  If you keep your head down, you’ll miss life’s goodness.
There’s no shortage of problems waiting to be addressed.  When you see problems piled on top of problems, and when there seems to be no end to the work that must be done in order to resolve them, what are you really seeing?  You’re looking at a mountain of opportunity.  You’re looking at a situation in which you can truly make a difference.  You’re looking at an environment where you can reach great heights by raising the stakes and pulling the reality of what’s possible along with you.
When you look at an obstacle, but see opportunity instead, you become a powerful source that transforms grief into greatness.

5.  You are working hard, but making zero progress.

To achieve success and sustain happiness in life, you must focus your attention on the right things, in the right ways.  Every growing human being (that means all of us) has resource constraints: limited time and energy.  It is critical that you spend your resources effectively.  You have to stay laser-focused on doing the RIGHT work, instead of doing a bunch of inconsequential work, right.
Not all work is created equal.  Don’t get caught up in odd jobs, even those that seem urgent, unless they are also important.  Don’t confuse being busy with being productive.

6.  You have a started a dozen projects and completed none of them.

We are judged by what we finish, not what we start.  Period.
Think about it, you rarely fail for the things you do.  You fail for the things you don’t do, the business you leave unfinished, and the things you make excuses about for the rest of your life.
In all walks of life, passion is what starts it and dedication is what finishes it.

7.  You are too busy to connect with others in a meaningful way.

Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life for yourself.  Never get so busy that you don’t have time to be kind and connect with others.  The happiest lives are connected to quality relationships.  If you are too busy to share an occasional laugh with someone, you are too busy.
Truth be told, sometimes we’re so busy watching out for what’s just ahead of us that we don’t take time to enjoy where we are and who we’re with.  So lift your head up today and appreciate those standing beside you.  The people you take for granted today may turn out to be the only ones you need tomorrow.
Oh, and if you’re currently on the fast track to success, be sure to be nice to people on your way up, because you might meet them again on your way back down.  Remember life is a circle.  Everything comes back around.

8.  The people you make time for don’t make time for you.

Wrong things happen when you trust and worry about the wrong people.  Don’t make too much time for people who rarely make time for you, or who only make time for you when it’s convenient for them.  Know your worth.  Know the difference between what you’re getting from people and what you deserve.
Surround yourself with those who will support you when it rains, not just when it shines.  And above all, remember that people come and people go.  That’s life.  You have to stop holding on to those who have let go of you long ago.

9.  You are playing a role in life’s drama circle.

Needless drama doesn’t just walk into your life out of nowhere; you either create it, invite it or associate with those who bring it.  Do not let anyone’s ignorance, hate, drama or negativity stop you from being the best person you can be.
Be an example of a pure existence.  Don’t spew hostile words at someone who spews them at you.  Ignore their foolish antics and focus on kindness.  Communicate and express yourself from a place of peace, from a place of love, with the best intentions.  Use your voice for good – to inspire, to encourage, to educate, and to spread the notions of compassion and understanding.
If someone insists on foisting their hostility and drama on you, simply ignore them and walk away.  Sometimes people will talk about you when they envy the life you lead.  Let them be.  You affected their life; don’t let them affect yours.  Those who create their own drama deserve their own karma.  Don’t get sidetracked by people who are not on track.

DJ Khaled is an American/Palestinian record producer, radio personality, DJ, record label executive, and author. Khaled is also president of record label ‘Def Jam South’ and CEO and founder of ‘We the Best Music Group’.
In 2017, DJ Khaled’s net worth is estimated to be over $20 million. Which is a significant improvement from 2013, when his net worth was only $3 million.

Early Life

Khaled was born on the 26th November, 1975, in New Orleans, Louisiana. His parents were both Palestinian, and had immigrated to the United States. They were also musicians, which naturally attracted Khaled to music also.
He started developing an interest in rap and soul music at a young age and his parents supported his interest. Khaled’s first job was working in a local record store, which is where he first encountered Birdman and Lil Wayne. He got acquainted with the young artists and helped them before their breakthrough.

During the early 90’s, Khaled DJ’d in reggae sound-clashes. In the clashes, he’d start mixing dancehall with hip-hop. And towards the end of the 90’s was when Khaled started his radio hosting career, as the host of The Luke Show.

3 Success Lessons from DJ Khaled

Here are 3 of the best success lessons we can learn from DJ Khaled:

1. Nothing is Free in Life

You know what this means, don’t you?
Life is hard. Becoming successful is hard. Achieving your dreams is hard.
You have to put in the work, and do the things that 99% of people really aren’t willing to do. Think you can handle that? DJ Khaled says this is the most important key to his success. Putting in that work, to get that money.

2. Surround Yourself With Positive Energy

Don’t forget to surround yourself with positive people, and eliminate the energy drainers from your life. It’s like Khaled says, “They don’t want you to win”.
Not everybody is hoping that you’ll be successful. A lot of people don’t believe in you, and don’t want you to eventually become more successful than they are.
And if that’s the case, then it’s crucial to surround yourself with the right people. The people that want to build you up, and not bring you down.

3. You Are the Key to Your Success
Above all else, remember that you’re in control of your life. You have the power to make the ultimate decisions that will shape your life. It’s up to you to work hard, put in the time, make the right decisions, and trust yourself on your journey to success.
Nobody else is going to live your life for you, and nobody else is going to put in the work for you.
